Indian Journal of Ecology
The Indian Journal of Ecology (Indian J. Ecol.) is the official journal of the Indian Ecological Society and has been published since 1974 (Print ISSN 0304-5250). It is a refereed, peer-reviewed journal published in English, with a multidisciplinary focus on publishing high-quality research in ecology, environmental science, and sustainability. Until 2013, the journal was available only in print. Since Volume 41 (2) in 2014, it has been published in both print and online formats. The publication frequency increased from two issues per year (1974–2016), to four (2018–2020), and then to six (2021–2025).
In 2026, the journal adopted an online management system and transitioned to a quarterly publication schedule and assigned an Online ISSN-3139-2725. Four regular issues, in both print and online formats, will be published each year in March, June, September, and December, with additional special or conference issues as needed. The journal covers all aspects of global agroecosystems and holds an NAAS rating of 5.38.
